Regularly performs Laparoscopic obesity surgery – Gastric Banding, Gastric RNY Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Duodenal switch and Revisional obesity surgery - both in the NHS (Homerton) and private sector (London Independent Hospital, London Clinic & Holly house).
TRAINED IN SURGERY at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff; Lister Hospital, Stevenage; Royal London Hospital, London and the Middlesex Hospital, London.

WAS CONSULTANT SURGEON at The Royal London Hospital, London Jan 1998 – Aug 2000, Scarborough general Hospital, Oct 2000 – Dec 2002
LAPAROSCOPIC WORK:
Started in 1990.
Attended the Laproscopic course in Dundee in 1990.
Closely associated with advanced laparoscopic work at the Royal London Hospital from 1991 – ‘93.
Attended various Laparoscopic courses/conferences since then.
Conducted a number of workshops/conferences in laparoscopic surgery in India from 1994 onwards.
Demonstrated live Laparoscopic Fundoplication for heartburn/hiatus hernia to Royal college of surgeons auditorium from Royal London hospital operating theatre in 1998 & 1999 and locally at other times.
Trained quite a number of surgeons in Laparoscopic surgery
OBESITY WORK:
Attended the first Laparoscopic gastric banding course in London in 1998
Performed first Laparoscopic gastric banding in 1998
Demonstrated Laparoscopic gastric banding in Madras, India in Jan 2004 and teaching laparoscopic obesity surgery since then in Madras & Hyderabad.
Attended numerous Laparoscopic obesity centres in France, Belgium, Holland & USA/ workshops/conferences. Improved technique by spending some time with Leading Bariatric Surgeons In US - Prof Gagner in Newyork and Dr Higa in Fresno, California.
Regularly attends International and national Obesity conferences.
Regularly performs all aspects of obesity surgery after careful evaluation in a multidisciplinary set up. Performs two Lap Gastric Bypasses/Duodenal switches and one Lap Gastric Band/Lap Sleeve Gasrectomy per week. Training other consultants in bariatric surgery.
